We can’t bottle time, but we can preserve the taste of a moment. Come together as a group to learn how preserving foods through time-honored processes like canning or fermentation is a tool toward greater food sovereignty as well as a way to capture the best flavors of the season and savor them through the winter months.

Walk the farm, see what is growing seasonally, and harvest some of the produce you’ll be preserving later in the day. Using peak season produce, learn how to can or ferment food that you can enjoy later in the year.

Michaela Hayes-Hodge, award winning preservationist and former chef in lauded New York City restaurants, will lead you through the preservation process. Whether you are canning or fermenting produce, Michaela will teach you how to do it safely while having fun. You’ll leave the farm with a jar of delicious preserves, tried and true recipes, and farm stories to share.

Tailor this experience to the desires of your group and what produce is in season. Before you arrive, select either canning or fermentation as a preservation process and we will choose a recipe to teach you based on seasonally available produce.
