From elementary school to post-graduate students and beyond, we will make sure that your group has an enriching experience on the farm. As teachers trained in popular education models, we work to educate people about the food system, our agricultural history in the U.S. and our region, climate challenges for farmers, our place within an ecosystem, the importance of healthy soil, working in community and more. Farm tasks are geared to the level of farm knowledge that your group possesses - there are plenty of things to do on the farm that you don’t require previous experience for.

Please fill out this form and someone will get back to you about your visit.

We offer sliding scale fees to encourage you to bring your group to the farm. Please use the table as a guide for your visit costs.

For Your Visit:

Where: We are located in Chester, NY in the beautiful black dirt of Orange County. The farm is about 50 miles from the George Washington Bridge in NYC, located near Route 17 (I-86), I-84, and I-87.

What to bring: A reusable water bottle, a bag lunch, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting very, very, dirty. In case of rain, please also bring rain gear.

IMPORTANT NOTES: We have dogs (friendly!) and cats around the farm - be aware for any allergies.

Farm days are canceled in cases of extreme weather (i.e. thunderstorms, tornadoes, hurricanes). We're always watching the weather and will keep everyone updated as to cancellations due to weather. We will do our best to reschedule any canceled tours as quickly as possible.

“We had a really great experience at the farm. The students and I have held countless discussions about what we learned from you and are integrating this information into a few of our final projects.” - Benjamin Troup, Chester Academy
