We are a QT+BIPOC centered farm rooted in social justice. Located in Lenape territory in the heart of Orange County, New York, our focus is on providing greater food access to those most in need, and to educating people about food, farming and the food system. We wouldn’t exist without our community, and we offer numerous ways for you to connect with us and support our work.
Located just one hour north of New York City in the lower Hudson Valley, our farm remains easily connected to our urban roots. Grounded in the Black Dirt region, our farm is blessed with fertile soils, wide sky views and an abundant wetland ecosystem.
You can find our fresh vegetables, herbs and flowers at local restaurants throughout the area, through our distributors, or at the Chester Agricultural Center farm store. In the spring we sell our plant seedlings online, at the Union Square Greenmarket and the Kingston Farmers Market. We wholesale plant seedlings to numerous greening organizations in the spring and fall.
We partner with non-profits and for-profit businesses through food access work, education and team building. We invite individuals and family groups to come get your hands in the soil at our community work days.

“We are so excited to partner with Rise & Root for another year!! We still have community members asking when the vegetables will be back, they truly enjoyed the variety and freshness of everything!”
